What is home infusion services?
Home Infusion is an all-encompassing program dedicated to refilling and managing implanted pumps in the comfort of your own home by a registered nurse specialist.
What are the benefits of home infusion?
The key benefits to home infusion are: Convenience, independence, flexibility of scheduling, reduced travel times, and more cost effective.
Will BHI be able to provide dose increases and decreases?
Yes, our trained nurses can also handle additional types of programming including titration, drug changes, concentration changes, bridge boluses, and PTM/PTC devices.
Will I always have the same nurse?
There is a possibility that you will have the same nurse most of the time, however that could change and we will notify you if that happens.
Will I still see my physican?
Yes, we act as an extension of your care coordination and pump management, you will continue to see your physican as needed. The home care component of BHI will allow your physican to monitor you via our physician web portal allowing for full access to your medical records.
What kind of experience does the BHI nurse have?
BHI nurses are required to pass an extensive educational program. They become proficient in this therapy through both clinical and heads-on training.

What services do you provide?
BHI solely provides management for implanted pumps. We provide the drug, nursing, pump refills, and MRI coverage.
How is doing this in my home safe?
BHI nurses create a safe environment in your home by reducing the risk of exposure to outside elements.
Who do I call if I need an adjustment? My nurse or my doctor?
You will need to call the monitoring center nurse to discuss your needs. We will then take an assessment over the phone to send it your doctor for recommendations.
How will I know when I need a refill?
BHI’s Monitoring Center keeps track of your refills based on your telemetry readings and your nurse will inform you of your next refill before they leave your house. A copy of your refill and alarm date will be left with you at the end of each visit.
Do you fill pumps anywhere other than in the home?
Yes, in addition to the home setting, BHI is able to fill and manage implanted pumps in many other locations. These include: Nursing facilities, hospitals, rehab centers, schools, and our designated IPM offices.
Can I travel or go on vacation?
Yes, BHI is a national company and we likely have the coverage that will allow us to coordinate your pump refill schedule with your travel plans.
Does my insurance cover your service?
Yes, most insurance policies cover our service. However, since coverage can vary from plan to plan, BHI will help you coordinate your coverage.
